Do I need to print my tickets?

Tickets do not need to be printed. We are sustainability-conscious at Venues Ōtautahi and all tickets issued will be Mobile Tickets. To ensure easy access to The Midwinter Session, please ensure your mobile is fully charged, you have downloaded your tickets and your screen brightness is set to 100%.

Can I purchase tickets at the door?

Door Sales will be made available only if the event does not sell out in advance.

How can I enquire about ticket payments and transactions?

Are my tickets from Viagogo, Facebook or another unauthorised retailer, legitimate?

The only tickets we can guarantee are legitimate are those purchased directly from Ticketek. We can never guarantee the validity of a ticket that was purchased through a third-party platform, such as Viagogo, Facebook or other marketplaces. If you did not purchase your ticket using the Ticketek platform, it is likely your ticket will not be honoured.

Venues Ōtautahi accepts no liability for any losses incurred as a result of the purchase of tickets from a third-party, whether deliberate or unintentional.

I can no longer attend - can I resell my ticket?

What is the difference between General Admission ticket tiers?

The General Admission (GA) tier reflects the time you have purchased your GA tickets. First Release GA and Second Release GA are at a discounted price but receive exactly the same access as Final Release GA tickets to The Midwinter Session.

Is The Midwinter Session all ages, or R18?

The Midwinter Session is strictly R18. If you are under 18, you cannot attend with a parent or legal guardian, and parents and legal guardians cannot bring their dependent child, toddler or infant.

What forms of ID are able to be accepted?

There are only three types of ID we can accept, all of which must be current and valid on the day of The Midwinter Session. They are:
- NZ Photo Drivers’ Licence
- NZ or International Passport
- Kiwi Access Card (previously known as the ‘HANZ 18PLUS Card’)

Will cash be accepted for purchases?

The Midwinter Session is a cashless event. Purchases can be made via EFTPOS or credit card.

Where is The Midwinter Session held?

The Midwinter Session is held at Wolfbrook Arena (formerly Christchurch Arena), 55 Jack Hinton Drive, Addington, Christchurch.

ARRIVING BY TAXI & RIDESHARE APPS
We have a taxi and rideshare drop off zone outside the entrance to Wolfbrook Arena. The taxi and rideshare area will be available throughout the event for your safe transport home.

ARRIVING BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT
There are three bus routes which have bus stops near Wolfbrook Arena. Route 7 (Halswell/Queenspark) runs along Lincoln Road, the Orbiter stops along Whiteleigh Avenue and Route 140 (Russley/Mt Pleasant) runs along Birmingham Drive and Wrights Road.

ARRIVING BY PRIVATE VEHICLEDO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE
If you are considering driving to The Midwinter Session, there is car parking at Wolfbrook Arena. Please follow instructions from parking attendants when you arrive. The drop off zone for private vehicles is the same area as the taxi and rideshare drop off zone and can be used for collection also.

ARRIVING BY E-SCOOTER, BIKE OR E-BIKE
Please park e-scooters and bikes in the signposted zone and clear of all accessways. For personally owned e-scooters and bikes, we cannot guarantee the security of personal items.

Can I bring a personal bag with me?

Yes, provided your small personal bag is no bigger than 30cm x 30cm x 30cm in size. Large bags greater than 30x30x30cm in size are strictly prohibited.

Is there a Coat Check?

Yes there is a Coat Check available. Curiosity Gin Platinum Lounge ticket holders have coat check included in their ticket, while GA ticket holders can pay $5 for coat check.

Do you cater to dietary requirements and allergies?

We have various food vendors operating, most of whom cater to a diverse range of dietary requirements, preferences and allergies. We also have specialist GF, DF, Vegetarian and Vegan food vendors so all of our attendees can rest assured there’s something at The Midwinter Session for them.

Can I bring a sealed bottle of water?

No, no food or drink is permitted. You may bring an empty drinking water bottle, up to 1L in size. There are taps inside Wolfbrook Arena to fill these up with.

Do you cater for people with access needs?

Venues Ōtautahi is committed to ensuring persons of all abilities are able to access and enjoy events at our facilities, including at The Midwinter Session. For anyone with the appropriate Mobility Pass, you have access to and can park your vehicle in the Mobility Parking area, directly opposite the front entry, in the main car park of Wolfbrook Arena. Wolfbrook Arena also has wheelchair accessibility throughout the whole venue, which includes accessible toilets.

When does The Midwinter Session start and finish?

Doors Open: 1.00pm
Event Ends: 8.00pm

Am I able to leave and return later?

No, once you leave The Midwinter Session that’s it. You won’t be allowed to re-enter as there are strictly no ‘pass outs.’
